John P  Kennedy Sr.
John P. Kennedy Sr., entered eternal life on May 15th, 2018, he was 80. John was born in the Bronx, on November 15th, 1937 to Thomas and Lillian (Kelly) Kennedy. Upon his graduation from middle school, John went to work for a sheet metal company in Queens. A short time later, he joined Union Local 1536; worked for a little over a year, and then joined the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served for over three years. Upon his return to civilian life, he went back to working at Local 1536, as a timber-man, and just celebrated his sixty years in good standing. John was the beloved husband of Joan Kennedy, and father and father in law to Tina and her husband Kevin, John and his wife Cheryl Kennedy; and step-father of Margaret Groovenhoff and Deborah and her husband Brian J. Warner. He was also the beloved grandfather of Julia Pignataro, often called the 5th child by the family; Patricia , Alexis and Alicia Hazy, Jade Grace Kennedy and Jabari. He is also survived by his brother Jimmy Kennedy. John was predeceased by his sister Patricia and his brother Thomas. A private family visitation was held on Thursday, May 17th, followed by cremation. A memorial gathering will take place 8pm - 10pm at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3083; 363 McLean Ave, Yonkers, NY 10705, where John could often be found, swapping stories and having a beer. www.WarnerAndWozniak.com
